Where It All Started

When I first dipped my toes into the world of sewing, it wasn't on a modern, high-speed machine with all the bells and whistles. Instead, I began on a Singer treadle sewing machine — a beautiful, sturdy piece of history that required nothing more than the rhythm of foot and hand working in harmony. The experience was as hands-on as it gets, and it taught me to appreciate the art of sewing from the very first stitch.

What the Treadle Taught Me

Working on that old Singer, I developed skills that would become the foundation for everything I make today — from handbags crafted from vintage Welsh tapestry to accessories and appliqued cushions. That machine taught me patience. It taught me precision. And it gave me a deep respect for the fabric in front of me.

There are no shortcuts when you're working with a treadle. Every stitch is intentional. Every seam is considered. And I carry that same philosophy into every piece I make today, even with the modern machines I now use alongside it.

A Journey That Continues

My sewing journey has taken me from that first treadle to a studio full of vintage Welsh tapestry, each piece waiting to be transformed into something new. The tools have evolved, but the values haven't — craftsmanship, care, and a love of fabric that tells a story.

Explore the collection and see where that journey has led.
